Ukraine Relief Update: March 21, 2022

Two members of our team met a family who had recently escaped from Kiev. They were offered housing for a month in Warsaw but had no means to purchase the train tickets for two adults and four small children. The wife was pregnant, and the adults were obviously exhausted hand-carrying two toddlers for days. Our team was able to pray with them, get them a baby carrier, and get them tickets to Warsaw.  With some hugs and a lot of gratitude, the family is well on their way to a safe place to stay.

One member of our team explained that they are buying diapers to give to the parents and providing hair bands for little girls that need them. They also brought little heart stickers that they have been giving out while they greet and entertain the children.  One family shared their heartache with our team members. They have a sister still in Kiev who stayed behind with her husband who is a police officer. The family hasn’t heard from them in over a week and are very concerned. Our team was able to pray with them, cry with them, and be there for them.

• Nikolai—“There is so much love and help at the train station for the refugees that it lifts the spirit.”

• Luda—“Lots of praying for people. No one refused. Chance to share with another volunteer about God and prayer and shared God’s plan for salvation. Hoping to continue the conversation today. We can call her Sarah.”

• Olga—“People are so exhausted and are just melting in our hugs.”
