Simcha, the Hebrew word for “joy,” is a time for believers to celebrate the joy we have as part of the body of Messiah. This retreat is designed for Jewish followers of Jesus and people connected to Chosen People Ministries or Messianic congregations in the Pacific Northwest and western Canada. We are pleased a number of Messianic Jewish congregations in British Columbia, Washington, and Montana are involved and are sending delegates!
We have group sessions with worship and teaching as well as workshops offering enrichment to deepen our walk with the Lord. We are confident this weekend together in nature will provide some much-needed refreshment!
Housing options are available for individuals, couples, and families. All on-campus housing includes accommodations for two nights and meals from Friday night through Sunday afternoon. The retreat also includes access to the conference center grounds for activities and pool time.
Off-campus guests for the full weekend get full access to the events and conference center activities. These guests simply register for the day rate for as many days as they wish. This off-campus option allows commuters from the local area to come and enjoy the weekend with us. If we are fully booked, this option allows guests to find housing accommodations at local hotels and still enjoy Simcha with us!
Families are welcome! While we do not have a formal children’s program, there are plenty of activities for children on the conference grounds. Visit the Warm Beach Conference Center website for more information.

Dr. Jeffrey Seif and Dr. Barri Cae Seif
Our speaker is Dr. Jeffrey Seif, who will be coming with his wife, Dr. Barri Cae Seif (formerly Mallin). Jeffrey L. Seif was born into a German-Jewish family on November 9, 1955. He was raised in a typical American Jewish household. Jeff attended a yeshiva—an Orthodox Jewish training school.
Though raised with a traditional Jewish upbringing, Jeff eventually came to a saving faith in Jesus, after which he experienced a call to vocational gospel ministry. Jeff eventually went to school to prepare for a ministerial vocation, studying at the Moody Bible Institute, Trinity College, the Graduate Theological Foundation, and then the theological seminary at Southern Methodist University, where he took both a master’s degree and a doctorate.
Jeff served as a missionary with Chosen People Ministries, has served as a theology ministry professor for twenty-seven years, and was the project manager of the Tree of Life Bible Version. He is currently the Executive Director of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations.
Seif has written many books and articles, including To the Ends of the Earth, Shalom in Psalms, and, most recently, Messianic Jewish Orthodoxy.
When not working in his various ministerial capacities, Jeff enjoys running, weightlifting, and ballroom dancing with his wife Barri, herself a Jewish believer in Yeshua/Jesus. Barri will be teaching a special seminar on the Torah on Saturday you will not want to miss.
