We flipped the script—and led a Muslim student to faith in Messiah!
Nageena’s (not her real name) family immigrated from Afghanistan to Germany. At first there was immense culture shock, and Nageena struggled with the huge changes to her life.
One huge transition: she used to live in a majority Muslim nation where she and her family had the same religious beliefs as almost everyone they knew. But Nageena settled into a more secular way of life, even as her family remained Muslim.
By the time she went to university, she was comfortable with her new, German culture. Then, one day, she met a Chosen People Ministries missionary who told her about the Messiah, Jesus. Of course, Nageena knew of Issa, a prophet in the Koran—but she did not know that He was the Son of God, or her Savior.
That very day she prayed to receive Jesus into her life!
We are praying that she will soon be growing in her new faith in the Jewish Messiah, Jesus, who came for all people.
Amid the horrors of war . . . the hope of Jesus!
While the war rages on in Ukraine, your Chosen People Ministries congregations continue to proclaim the hope of Messiah and offer aid, comfort, and even celebration to Jewish people.
The recent Feast of Weeks, or Shavuot, was one such occasion to celebrate. In the city of L’viv, four local Messianic congregations joined together for an outdoor event involving 250 people. Against the backdrop of suffering and fear in Ukraine, these followers of Yeshua presented a witness to their faith with song, dance, sounding of shofars, and preaching of the Word.
Hundreds of people from across the city were drawn to the celebration, and 150 of them signed up to receive follow-up contact. Already, eight Jewish people have begun attending Messianic congregation outreaches.
Another reason to celebrate in L’viv: five Jewish people received their Messianic baptism!
The ongoing war makes life extremely difficult, but you are showering Jewish people in Ukraine with love, compassion, and the gift of the truth about their Messiah. Thank you!
From astrology to the Jewishness of Jesus and beyond!
Elliot (not his real name) had no use for religion—neither his own Jewish faith nor Christianity. Although he was a secular person, he did have a great regard for astrology! The stars and their influence on us explained so much about people.
He knew his physician friend Deborah (not her real name) was a Messianic believer, but he was willing to overlook it because she was so smart and fun to be around. When she invited him to a Sabbath dinner at the home of Chosen People Ministries missionaries, he was happy to tag along.
The conversation there took him by surprise! He explained his beliefs about the astrological signs—and his hosts explained their beliefs about Yeshua, how the New Testament points to the very Jewishness of Jesus, and how the Gospel of John speaks so clearly to Jewish people.
Elliot had never heard anything like it! By the end of the evening, he told Deborah he was anxious to read the Gospel of John for himself. Deborah got him a great version to begin with, and we are praying the Scriptures will speak to Elliot and draw him to faith in Jesus, too.
Thanks for your support and prayers, which make these stories and others possible! Friends like you are the foundation of this work, which is helping Jewish people all over the world meet their Messiah. We are grateful for the important role you play in this effective outreach to Jewish people everywhere.
