Russian Messianic Jewish Leaders Conference

Our largest training conference yet for Russian-speaking Messianic Jewish leaders took place in Kraków, Poland, with 160 leaders in attendance. The wonderful spirit of peace and unity made this a powerful time of fellowship, encouragement, training, sharing, and support for these critical leaders.

The statistics certainly show that your support for Russian-speaking Messianic Jewish leaders is bearing fruit:

  • The number of Russian-speaking Messianic Jewish people has doubled in the last ten years! There are 25,000 Russian-speaking Messianic Jews worldwide.
  • The largest Messianic congregation of Russian-speaking Jewish people is in Kiev, Ukraine, and many of the representatives at the training conference were Messianic leaders from Ukraine.
  • The number of Messianic congregations in Ukraine has tripled over the past five years, and in that time the number of Messianic congregations in Russia has doubled.
  • Most Messianic congregations in Israel are Russian-speaking congregations.

The Lord is doing a wonderful work among Russian-speaking Jewish people in Europe, Israel, and around the world. We feel privileged to be able to offer an annual training conference for the leaders of these congregations and outreaches, and we are grateful to you for your support!

What it means to be a Chosen People Ministries missionary

Chosen People Ministries missionaries and workers often have very different job descriptions, depending on where they work and minister. Dennis and Tina Karp lead a Messianic congregation in Silver Spring, Maryland.

One day a Christian man came to Dennis and asked for prayer for his wife. He was married to a Jewish woman who had no respect for his faith. In fact, she had lots of doubts about Christianity, and the conflict was causing turmoil in their home.

Dennis prayed with the young man. He petitioned the Holy Spirit to touch this young woman and open her heart to the truth about the Jewish Messiah, Jesus.

“Afterward, I didn’t see the young man again in our congregation, and I thought no more about the prayer,” Dennis recounted.

But eleven years later, at an international prayer meeting in Washington, D.C., a missionary who had been called on to pray instead told the attendees, “I know that I am supposed to pray now, but I want to recognize someone here today.”

He pointed at Dennis and went on, “This man prayed for me and for my wife’s salvation many years ago. My wife did come to faith, and she is here with me today.”

“Seeds planted do unseen work, and it is all the work of God,” said Dennis.

Who is thankful for you this Thanksgiving?

By Mitch Glaser
President of Chosen People Ministries

This is the season of Thanksgiving, and of course I am offering my gratitude to God for all He has done for me.

Among the chief blessings I count in my life is a wonderful family of support for Chosen People Ministries. I am thankful for you this Thanksgiving.

Because of you, and friends like you, Chosen People Ministries exists to glorify God, proclaim the gospel to the Jew first and also to the Gentile, and develop resources and programs to accomplish this task.

With your partnership, we place the worker above the work and stay concerned with promoting the welfare of the Jewish community and combating antisemitism wherever it arises.

Thank you for standing alongside us and reaching out with the truth about the Jewish Messiah, for Jewish people everywhere.

Because of you, I get to share incredible stories like the one in this update—stories of Jewish people transformed because of your generosity and prayers. Thank you for standing with me and living out Romans 1:16: “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.”
