I Found Shalom Peace שָׁלוֹם

Shalom. Peace. שָׁלוֹם. Where is it? What happened to it? If you look around these days, it is pretty clear that there is not much of it. And yet, there are some who seem to have found it in spite of the world around them.

It is possible for you to find that same peace. There is one who is called the Prince of Peace, sar shalom, שַׂר־שָׁלֽוֹם, and His name is Yeshua, though many call Him Jesus.

Most Jewish people grow up without considering whether or not Yeshua is the Messiah, who has been expected by our people for millennia. All of those who tell their stories here were raised this way, too. But then something happened that changed each of their lives and caused them to rethink the traditional Jewish views about Jesus. Usually, it was a series of events that caused them to take a close look, and often the prophecies in the Tanakh (the Old Testament) that caused our storytellers to find shalom by becoming followers of Yeshua.

We believe that peace is available now because Yeshua died for our sins and rose from the grave to bring us close to the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.

Jewish people who believe that Jesus is the promised Messiah of Israel are often referred to as Messianic Jews. In fact, we commonly refer to Jesus as Yeshua (יְשׁוּעָ), which is a Hebrew name that means, “salvation.”  We believe that peace is possible because of Him.

We hope our faith in Jesus does not surprise you, but rather makes you curious. Do you ever think about the fact that Yeshua was Jewish, the first believers of Yeshua were all Jewish, and the first Messianic communities were all Jewish? In fact, they were Israelis!

Our storytellers will invite you into their lives and you will see through their eyes and experiences why they decided to become followers of Yeshua. They will share with you the resulting profound impact that decision had on each of them as individuals. You will smile, laugh, and at times, be moved to tears by these compelling stories.
